John 1:1-18; Gal. 3:23-35, 4:4-7
Creation has never been without the light and life of the Word: past, present, and future. In the Prologue to St. John’s Gospel we are invited not to otherworldy speculation but to plumb the depths of the mystery that our whole life, indeed all of creation, finds its past, present, and future in the Word become flesh: none other than Jesus the Messiah. Furthermore, we enter into this mystery not as spectators but as those either rejecting this Word or receiving it, reflecting the glory of God as members of Jesus’ Body.
