The Disturbing Power of Jesus

Mark 1:21-28

As Jesus teaches in the synagogue at Capernaum and confronts a demon, the people become aware of the sheer power and authority of Jesus’ word.  The people have nothing to comapare Jesus to, and as a result they realize that Jesus is no meek and mild sage or even a great human teacher - He speaks with power over sickness, evil, and even death.  Jesus still speaks to us with that same voice; the question is, how can we hear it?
