November 8, 2009: Gifts of Love and Trust

Mark 12:38-44

We join Jesus as He takes the opportunity of a memorable offering in the Temple to teach His disciples, and us, what God is looking for in our giving to Him.  Jesus teaches three things about giving in this short episode.  First, our giving is meant to express our hearts, our love, as they cost us something.  Second, our giving is meant to express our trust.  Third, in God’s hands, our gifts, even when seemingly small, can do great things; even things we never imagined.
