Study and Fellowship
Please call the parish office if you have questions about how you can become a part of these ministries.
The Brotherhood of St. Andrew
This is an international ministry of men within the Anglican Communion. The sole objective of St. Andrew’s ministry is “the spread of Christ’s Kingdom among men and boys.” See the calendar
for dates and times of meetings each month. For more information go to Brotherhood.

Cursillo Fellowship
Made up of St. Paul’s parishioners who have attended Cursillo, an often life-changing weekend, our Cursillo Fellowship is an ever growing, spiritually alive community.
Daughters of the King (DOK)
St. Paul’s hosts a chapter of this international ministry that is dedicated to prayer, service, and evangelism. Our parish chapter is named “Prisca.” For more information see the DOK national website.

Men’s Breakfast Bible Study
This men’s group meets every Wednesday Morning at Lorene’s on Ming Ave. just east of Ashe Rd. from 6:15-7:30am. We meet for breakfast, fellowship, an inductive Bible Study, discussion, and prayer. Along with solving world problems, analyzing and predicting sports events, mastering the problems of parenting, grand-parenting, and aging, we actually have time to read, reflect upon, and try to apply the teaching of the Bible to our daily lives. The group is open to new attendees. It is a great way to meet some of the Men at St. Paul’s.
Neighborhood Small Groups
Neighborhood small groups are in place in one or more zip codes within Bakersfield. The primary mission of this ministry is Bible study. However, other purposes are to bring others to St. Paul’s via a small group and to assimilate newer St. Paul’s members via a small group.
Old Stockdale Bible Study
Currently the Old Stockdale Area small group meets on Wednesday evenings at 7pm (except during Lent and the summer) and is composed of 20 men and women. (But with some members traveling regularly, usually about 12 attend on any given night.) Other neighbors are always welcome. Joy Rose is the facilitator. Call her at 831-0197 for information about the meeting location.
Single Seniors
This ministry brings single seniors, and those who live alone, into a support group. It enables parishioners to get acquainted with one another, while also becoming an integral part in the growth of St. Paul’s. They meet on the first Sunday of each month at Marie Calendar’s Restaurant at 11:30am for brunch, fellowship, and planning future activities. They also offer a Bereavement Outreach Program.
St. Anne’s Guild
They meet the third Monday of each month at 1:30pm. in the Fireside Room. Visitors are most welcome.
Wii Knit
Wii Knit (formerly Lengklings) is a group that meets weekly for food (vegan and vegetarian fare always available) and fellowship. All are welcome to join us. This group is especially recommended for people who enjoy video games, knitting (or a similar pursuit), or just hanging out in a multigenerational setting (not recommended for those allergic to cats or with an aversion to children running around). Call Brad or Sarah Swanlund at 834-0150 if you’d like to join us or for more information.
Women’s Study Groups
Study Group I is a group of younger women, some with small children. Since it is designed primarily for women under 55, nursery care is provided. This group meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 10am.
Study Group II is for more mature women who have long since outgrown the need for baby-sitters. This group meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from 9:30 to 11:15am.
Young Couples Groups
This ministry has two groups meeting on Sunday or Monday evenings in member’s homes for fellowship, Bible study, and recreational activities, which may include dinner, bowling, golf, or an evening of games.
